Parents Association

The Alderton Junior School has a committee of parent helpers who run our Parent Association.  The team works with parents from our neighbouring Infants school and meets on a regular basis to plan events throughout the academic year.  All events are designed to raise much needed funds for the schools whilst at the same time offering enjoyable family activities.  Examples of successful events include: a family disco, summer inflatable fun day, Christmas bazaar, quiz night, and Mother’s Day and Father’s Day stalls.  Recently, the PA has provided the school with the finances for our Millennium Project, which has enabled us to start making improvements to the school grounds.

An Annual General Meeting is held soon after the start of the school year.  All parents are invited and the PA charity nominates a committee including a chair and treasurer.  The committee welcomes any help from parents and is always open to ideas for different events.  The charity also benefits from corporate matching should a parent’s employer offer the scheme.

The Alderton PA also runs a fund raising 100 club.  Parents and friends of the school can donate from £1 per month to enter into our prize draw.  For every £1 donated a number will be allocated and entered into the draw.  The draw number winner will then receive half of the month’s contributions whilst the other half is retained and used by the schools.

To find out more information about joining the PA, attending future meetings, or becoming a 100 club investor, please speak to the school office for further information.
